Dr Song Chen obtained her MBBS on a scholarship from Dalian Medical University in China in 1994. Soon after graduating, she began her medical career as an HMO then moved onto clinical haematology training at The People’s Hospital of Liaoning Province. Dr Chen moved to Australia in 2004 and passed the Australian Medical Council Examinations. She worked as an HMO and medical registrar at Peninsula Health before moving to the Alfred Hospital where Dr Chen began her laboratory haematology training as a registrar. She obtained further training at Healthscope Pathology and St John of God Pathology before obtaining her Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in 2014. Dr Chen joined Dorevitch Pathology early in 2015.
