Biography

Carole commenced work at Dorevitch Pathology in 2016. She was formerly Medical Director at Austin Pathology and Associate Professor, University of Melbourne. While in this position, she was also a clinical haematologist with interests in malignant and non-malignant haematology. She was responsible for establishing apheresis and stem cell autografting at Austin Health as well as laboratory aspects of allografting and expanding molecular testing. She was responsible for transfusion and anticoagulant oversight within the hospital. She continues training of numerous haematology trainees as well as PhD students. She has given lectures at national and international forums. Her research has been in mechanisms of chemotherapy, clinical trials and haemostasis and thrombosis. She was chair of the Human Research Ethics Committee at Austin Hospital from 2016 until 2024 and overseas trained specialist committees from both colleges. Carole has found it a pleasure to work with such an experienced and collaborative team at Dorevitch Pathology where the work is always interesting.
