Dr Nilika Wijeratne obtained her primary medical degree and MD in Chemical Pathology from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. After completing further training at The Alfred Hospital, Melbourne and Monash Medical Centre, Clayton she became a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA) and the Australian Association of Clinical Biochemists (AACB) in 2012. She is also a Fellow of the AACC (American Association for Clinical Chemistry) Academy.

Dr Wijeratne is a member of the RCPAQAP Advisory Committee on Patient Report Comments. She is an Honorary Chemical Pathologist in Monash Health and an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Medicine, Monash University.

Her special interests include quality assurance, education, laboratory testing related to monoclonal gammopathies and paediatric chemical pathology.
