Anatomical Pathology

Biography

In 2007, Dr Rosanne Devadas completed her undergraduate medical degree in New Zealand from the University of Otago School of Medicine, studying in both Dunedin and Wellington. From there she spent an intern year in Wellington, before migrating and settling in Australia in 2009. After completing a year as resident medical officer at Eastern Health, she started her fellowship training in Anatomical Pathology at Box Hill Hospital, which she completed at Melbourne Pathology, gaining exposure in both the public hospital and private laboratory setting.

After obtaining fellowship, she spent three years employed as a staff specialist in Tasmania, at Launceston General Hospital, providing pathology services for the hospital patients of Northern Tasmania. She enjoyed participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and developing close working relationships with the hospital clinicians. During this time she reported a wide range of surgical pathology from all disciplines, including many small biopsies and cytology samples.  During this time she developed interests in head and neck, respiratory and general oncology pathology.  She also had the opportunity to participate in an autopsy service for the state coroners, developing expertise in post mortem examination.

Since joining Dorevitch in 2019, she is developing further interest in gynaecology pathology and dermatopathology. She enjoys teaching and supporting the growth of registrars in training.
