Dr Alex Nirenberg graduated in medicine from the University of Melbourne. He completed his pathology training in the public sector which included work at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute. Dr Nirenberg undertook further training in dermatopathology based on an elective at the Ackerman Academy of Dermatopathology in New York, and received a post-fellowship Diploma in Dermatopathology in 2008. A Director of the Australasian Dermatopathology Society, Dr Nirenberg is also the driver behind their dermatopathology education program and regularly teaches at doctor skin cancer workshops. Dr Nirenberg has dual fellowships of the Royal College of Pathologists (UK) and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia. He joined Dorevitch Pathology in 2017.
