Dr. Maija Rinks graduated from Melbourne University in 1967, and commenced her training in Pathology in Toronto, Canada. From there her training continued in Microbiology at the London Hospital Group and in Melbourne at the Repatriation, Austin, Women's and Prince Henry's Hospitals, completing her FRCPA in 1979. Maija then worked as a Pathologist at the Austin Hospital until 1986 when she joined Dorevitch Pathology.
Maija is a Senior Histopathologist and Cytopathologist with a special interest in breast, gastrointestinal, gynaecology and all areas of cytopathology. She is based in Heidelberg and the Dorevitch Pathology Laboratory in Bendigo, where she is responsible for Histopathology and is the designated Pathologist for Bendigo Regional Breast Screen.
