Warfarin Support Group
When a patient is put on Warfarin, medical practitioners may request the Haematologists at Dorevitch Pathology to assist in controlling their patient's ongoing dosage requirements. This service is performed free of charge by Dorevitch Pathology to ensure patients maintain their Warfarin dosage at a safe level.
The Dorevitch Pathology support group consists of pathologists, Warfarin support group staff and a patient educator. All these individuals combine to evaluate your INR blood test and ensure you are aware and comfortable with the dosage level and process. In order to streamline the procedure we have a number of processes in place regarding when you must have your blood test and when you will be contacted by one of our staff members.
New patients commencing Warfarin will be sent a pamphlet explaining Warfarin, our hotline number for further information and personalised request forms along with a covering letter.
