Dr. Yuen Chan graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1977 and completed his general histopathology training in Hong Kong. He became a member of the Royal College of Pathologists (UK) in 1983 and a RCPA fellow in 1985. He was a consultant histopathologist from 1986. From 1989-91 he was a consultant paediatric pathologist in the Liverpool Alder Hey Children's Hospital, UK.

He moved to New Zealand in 1991 and was a specialist pathologist in the Auckland Children's Hospital and National Women's Hospital. He migrated to Melbourne in 1999 to take up a principal specialist position with the Royal Children's and Women's Hospital.

He joined Dorevitch Pathology in 2004 and has special interests in paediatric, perinatal and placental pathology.
