Dr. Alan Mills joined Dorevitch Pathology as an Associate in 1988 and is a General Pathologist based in our Bendigo Regional Laboratory. Alan was born in Rhodesia and graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University in 1964 and was Junior Resident Medical Officer and Senior House Officer-Pathology and Pathology Registrar, in Bulawayo, Rhodesia now Zimbabwe.

Alan then attended London's Hammersmith Hospital Postgraduate D.C.P Pathology Course, in 1967-68 at the Royal Post Graduate Medical School.

Alan returned to Bulawayo and held many roles in subsequent years including Consultant Staff Pathologist, Associate, Clinical Pathology Practice, Director of Bulawayo Group Laboratory, Honorary Medical Adviser for the Bulawayo and District Blood Transfusion Service, Honorary Lecturer in Pathology at the Godfrey Huggins School of Medicine, University of Rhodesia.

Alan was appointed Senior Specialist, Department of Pathology, Red Cross War Memorial Hospital, Capetown and Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Medicine, University of Capetown and was Elected Member, Board of Faculty of Medicine, University of Capetown, before moving to Australia in 1988.

Alan has a special interest in anatomical pathology, laboratory haematology and paediatric pathology.
