Sam graduated from Melbourne University in 1969 and qualified as a physician in 1974.  Following this he was a cancer research fellow a the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute in 1977.  Sam owned and developed his own private pathology practice, which was sold to Mayne in 1996.

Dr. Sam Kolber joined Dorevitch Pathology in 1996.  He has interests in morphology, electrocardiography and clinico-pathological correlation.
