Dr Swe Htet graduated from the University of Medicine in Mandalay, Myanmar in 2002. In his final year he received the award for distinction in Child Health by the Myanmar Paediatric Society. He worked in a number of hospitals in the country before moving to Australia in 2008.
Following several years working at Peninsula Health, Austin Health and Northern Health, Dr Htet trained as a clinical haematologist at Northern Health and University Geelong Hospitals, and as a laboratory haematologist at Healthscope Pathology. He gained his FRCPA and FRACP in 20015. Dr Htet worked for a year in the Royal Darwin Hospital before moving to Ballarat to work in the Integrated Cancer Centre and St John of God Hospital.
He joined Dorevitch Pathology in 2017, and has a broad interest in all areas of haematology, particularly in the pathophysiological basis and clinicopathological correlation of haematological diseases.
