Accessing Your Results
Dorevitch Pathology will telephone you with your Warfarin dose (i.e. the tablets you will be required to take until your next test). You will also be informed of your test results and the date you are required to have your next blood test.
Please have a pen and paper to write this vital information down.
Information for NEW Patients
New patients are a high priority for our Warfarin Support Service and we will make every effort to contact you on the day of your blood test. If you have not received a call from the Warfarin Support Service by early evening on the day of your blood test, please telephone 92440299.
If you cannot make contact with the support service, continue with your same dose and we will phone you the next day.
Information for ONGOING Patients
If you do not receive a call from the Warfarin Support Service on the day of your blood test, please continue on the dose of Warfarin you are currently taking. We will contact you the following day with your dose and next visit date.
If you have undergone a blood test in the morning and there is a significant change to the blood test result/dosage, this is treated as urgent and you will be contacted with priority.
ALTERNATIVE OPTION FOR RECEIVING WARFARIN RESULTS:
Warfarin Dosage by SMS
Undergoing warfarin therapy can greatly encroach on your life and freedom. However with Australia’s increasing use of mobile phones, Dorevitch Pathology has implemented an SMS results system to provide you with a convenient and efficient way to keep track of your dosage requirements. This system will automatically send your Warfarin dosage results via an SMS to your mobile phone, allowing you to monitor your dosage no matter where you are.
As with your usual treatment process, you will undergo a blood test in the morning to evaluate your dosage requirements. Instead of then receiving a phone call to inform you of your dosage level, the computer system at Dorevitch Pathology will automatically send you the result as an SMS message. This will occur once your required dosage level is entered into the computer system, making the process of receiving results far quicker.
Please Note: If you register for the SMS service you will not receive a phone call in addition to the SMS message.
